San Antonio, TX · Dry utilities · TxDOT ROW

Electric and telecom utility relocations for I-35 Nex South

Relocation of approximately 5,000 feet of telecommunications duct banks and 4,000 feet of electrical duct banks within TxDOT right-of-way — a design-build delivery.

Our scope

Plans and profile construction drawings for underground dry-utility relocations by open cut, HDD bore, and conventional bores under I-35 and Loop 410, plus 3D models for the duct banks.

Obstacles & solutions

Each utility owner required a dedicated plan set, even for joint trenches. Conventional bores had to pass under a highway, hold 10-foot clearance from piers, cross a railroad perpendicularly, and keep 40-foot clearance from existing transmission poles. The team delivered signed documents in nine months.

Austin, TX · On-call TCP

Austin Energy engineered traffic control plans program

On-call PE-sealed traffic control plans for utility excavation, manhole access, and aerial attachments across Austin — including high-traffic downtown.

Our scope

Site visits, jurisdiction and MUTCD review, and engineered TCP packages that support permit applications. Typical production exceeds two TCPs a week, often approved with minimal comments.

Obstacles & solutions

Work in congested downtown with overlapping construction. A proprietary digital tracker and dedicated coordinator keep submissions on a fast-track cycle. The partnership has renewed continuously since 2022.

Telecom utility relocations for I-35 & SH 123

Relocation of approximately 4,000 feet of fiber in TxDOT ROW and a 1,000-foot, 30-inch HDD bore under a river.

Our scope

Construction engineering drawings, surveys, manhole mapping, technical specifications, cost estimates, and construction-phase services.

Obstacles & solutions

Manholes missing from as-builts had to be located in the field. The river bore required extra research. Weekly TxDOT coordination kept the design conflict-free.

Travis County, TX · SUE · Coordination

Roadway SUE and conflict analysis

Utility coordination for a 1.6-mile roadway widening — power, water, telecommunications, and more.

Our scope

Survey review, one-call records, existing utility plans, a Utility Conflict Matrix and exhibits, and coordination of relocations, budgets, agreements, and construction scheduling.

Obstacles & solutions

Outdated records and missing information. The conflict matrix and exhibits were delivered in less than two weeks with no comments from the client or jurisdiction.

Leander, TX · OSP · Permitting

LISD #28 fiber conduit

Route study, design, and permitting of approximately 28,000 feet of 6-inch conduit through TxDOT, the City of Leander, and Williamson County — designed in three months for summer construction.

Our scope

Project scoping, contract negotiations, critical-path schedule, in-house survey, design, permitting, QA/QC, and easement documentation, plus HOA and property-owner coordination.

SAWS water main dead-end elimination

Preliminary engineering report covering more than 13 water-main sections in south-central San Antonio and into Bexar County.

Our scope

Records research, field investigations, utility locates (including oil refineries), pavement index, ownership research, soil reports, cost estimates, and a detailed PER with recommendations to eliminate dead-ends.

Dry-utility consulting for more than 1,500 residential units and an amenity center across 10 phases.

Our scope

Records research, surveying, planning, coordination, design, and permitting. Offsite electrical design and Phase 1 dry utilities complete; Phase 2 permitting underway.

Austin Convention Center redevelopment SUE

Subsurface utility engineering for tunneling evaluation from Trinity to I-35 and 6th to Cesar Chavez — about 20 intersections — delivered in three months.

Our scope

Utility records, site visits, AutoCAD files with 2D utilities and selected elevations per City of Austin standards, and a findings report.

Private-carrier subdivision fiber overlays

Fiber overlay for two older subdivisions — about 300 units each and 29,000 feet of cable — with PE-stamped drawings and carrier-system prints.
